Morocco, Journalist Sentenced to Four Months Suspended Sentence for a Tweet
Sentenced to four months suspended sentence and a fine equal to €50 euros. This was the verdict issued on 17 March by the Court of Casablanca against Moroccan journalist, Omar Radi.
The “crime”? On Twitter, he criticized the heavy sentences – up to 20 years – imposed by an appeals court judge on 43 activists with the Hirak El-Rif social justice movement that were issued on 5 April 2019.
